"When I took on the topic of "Ökoprofit" (ecological profit) at STEMA for the first year, I didn't expect it to be so exciting", said Falko Ilschner - graduate industrial engineer and controller at STEMA. "Of course I want to do something for environmental protection out of personal motivation, because I am also the father of a small daughter, but I never thought that I could have such a big impact.”

For the first time, STEMA became attached to the Dresden project “Ökoprofit” in 2016. The concept, originally developed in Austria, pursues the objective that the environment and the participating companies should profit from an environmental program. To achieve this, different thought-provoking impulses are given and developed further in workshops with other companies.

Depending on company size and objective , some very creative solutions come about, which are then directly balanced via an ecological footprint as saved kilowatt hours and / or saved Euros. In the fiscal year 2016/17 alone, STEMA was able to save 150,000 kWh and thus a demonstrable 27,000 Euros with environmental measures, such as heat exchange technology and switching to LED technology. In 2018, we were able to pick up there and save an additional 60,000 kWh with follow-up measures.

On June 12, 2018, Mr. Ilschner accepted the new certificate from Environmental Minister, Ms. Jährigen in Dresden. Thus a change in thinking in the direction of sustainability is truly worth it for both the company and even more importantly: FOR THE ENVIRONMENT.
